Dr Ashley Heinson oversees day-to-day technical operations through CIRU’s AXIS team, providing scalable, safe data extraction and analysis to improve health research. A bioinformatician with expertise in machine learning, omics (meaning large-scale analysis of whole sets of genes, proteins, or other biological molecules) and clinical data workflows, he has held academic and industry research posts following a PhD in vaccinology at Southampton. His commitment to reliable methods, reproducibility and responsible data handling supports the SDE’s secure technical foundation.
