Shrayan Banerjee
Shrayan Banerjee leads governance, risk and compliance for the Wessex SDE. He oversees the policies, processes and assurance that underpin secure access to health data for research, helping ensure projects meet legal, ethical and regulatory requirements while supporting timely and proportionate access for researchers.
Shrayan has experience spanning information governance, research governance, data quality and artificial intelligence across both NHS and commercial environments. His work focuses on developing practical governance frameworks that protect patient information, manage organisational risk and enable responsible research using NHS data.
Shrayan represents the Wessex SDE through national information governance and assurance groups, helping align local practice with the wider NHS Research Secure Data Environment Network. He also oversees external assurance, regulatory reporting and the continual development of the SDE’s governance framework as services and research capabilities evolve.
